We ask families for a lot. Here is exactly what happens to it.

STEM YEA is run by Rotarian volunteers, not a company. We collect what we need to run a safe residential program for your child, we do not sell any of it, and you can have it back or have it deleted whenever you ask.

What We Collect

Three forms, and nothing else

We only hold what you type into one of these. Browsing the site itself creates no account, sets no cookie of ours, and leaves us no record of your visit.

Who Sees It

Inside STEM YEA, only the people who need it

Registration

Our registrar, the Academy Director and the sponsoring club’s representative. Faculty receive a one-page brief for the students in their group.

Health history

Our registered nurse and our medical director. The kitchen is told about allergies and dietary needs, and nothing more. Volunteers are told only what keeps a child safe on their shift.

Volunteers

Our Volunteer Coordinator and Program Manager. Background clearances are run by the Rotary District 7430 Youth Compliance Officer, who holds that record, not us.

Your Child

Students never give us anything directly

Our students are twelve and thirteen years old. Every form on this site is completed and signed by a parent or guardian — there is no student login, no student account and no way for a child to submit their own information.

The one thing written by the student is the short essay on the registration form, which a parent submits on their behalf and can read first.

Photographs are separate

Images of your child are governed by their own written consent and their own policy, including how to have a photograph removed years later.

The SETI Institute Kutztown University Rotary District 7430

A four-day, three-night residential STEM academy for nominated 7th graders, funded by the Rotary Clubs of District 7430 and hosted at Kutztown University. Funds are administered by the Allentown West Rotary Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3).
